Fishing in Rapides des Joachims

The Island of Rapides des Joachims has for hundreds of years been known for excellent fishing. With access to the Ottawa River and hundreds of lakes in the Rapides des Joachims ZEC (Controlled exploitation zone), our customers have a great amount of choice to make fishing adventure a success.

The region offers a very large variety of different fish to catch, from walleye to sturgeon all the way to muskellunge, your fishing abilities will be put to the test.

The village of Rapides des Joachims has at your disposal two marinas with free boat launch on either side of the hydroelectric dam.

Notes

Both Quebec and Ontario fishing permits are valid for fishing on any section of the Ottawa River.

A valid Quebec fishing permit and ZEC fishing pass is required for any fishing activities in the Rapides des Joachims and Dumoine ZEC territory.
